The Accenta ACC558 is an 18-inch XLR Y-cable: one male XLR splits into two female XLR outputs. Used to split a single audio source (microphone, mixer output, DI box) to two destinations — sending the same signal to both a stage monitor mix and FOH, for example, or routing a backup feed alongside the main signal.
How a Y-cable differs from a splitter box: Y-cables are passive — the signal level drops slightly when split, and there's no electronic isolation between the two outputs. For most simple splits this is fine; for situations where one output is phantom-powered and the other isn't, use a proper transformer splitter instead.
Specifications:
- Length: 18 inches (45cm)
- 1× male XLR → 2× female XLR
- Compact length keeps the connection tight at the source
Stock for: Live sound engineers running simple monitor splits, AV integrators handling small announcement systems, podcasters splitting a mic to two recorders, and any setup that needs to send one audio source to two destinations.
